This newest Costa Rican adventure takes you through an amazing canyon surrounded by primary rainforest, and packed with inhabitants such as spider, howler and white-face monkeys, and exotic tropical birds such as the sun bitter, white hawks, herons, egrets and much more. The Cucaracho River starts after the confluence of four beautiful rivers that flow at the northeast base of the Rincon De La Vieja Volcano on the Caribbean slope.

Experience Type Adventurers
The adventure starts when we pick you up at the Blue River Hotel. We’ll drive to our river put-in, get our equipment fit, and receive a safety orientation. Then we begin our 12-mile run down continuous Class III-IV rapids, plus two additional Class VI rapids, and the upper and lower Cricket. You will paddle over 70 rapids finishing up at the town of Birmania where you will enjoy a delicious hot lunch and change your clothes to return to your hotel or continue your Costa Rican journey.
