Costa Rica Rafting / Bocas del Toro Sea Kayaking Adventure

Costa Rica Rafting / Bocas del Toro Sea Kayaking Adventure

Rios Tropicales’ newest adventure combines a world-class river rafting trip on Costa Rica’s renowned Pacuare River, staying at the National Geographic award-winning Rios Tropicales Lodge in the jungle, with a sea kayaking expedition in Panama’s scenic Bocas del Toro archipelago.

The 10-day adventure trip explores two of the most beautiful locations in the Caribbean region of Costa Rica and Panama. Active days will have you rafting, hiking, bird-watching, sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling and swimming. Afternoons are for hammock and beach lounging, and your evenings will be spent savoring great conversations and delicious cuisine while relaxing amid nature’s splendor.

Your adventure begins in San Jose, Costa Rica. You’ll first head deep into the primary rainforest along the iconic Pacuare River. A half day of rafting takes you right to our very comfortable, environmentally sustainable, riverside ecolodge. You’ll have an afternoon, the next day and two nights to explore the fascinating jungle and enjoy a few of the fun activities available on our 2,400-acre private rainforest reserve.

On Day 4, you’ll raft exciting class 3 – 4 rapids through the breathtaking Pacuare Gorge and the Lower Pacuare. Then you’ll drive to Costa Rica’s southern Caribbean coast for a relaxing afternoon and evening at a postcard-perfect beach.

We’ll cross into Panama in the morning and spend the next four days reveling in the natural beauty of the spectacular Bocas del Toro archipelago while sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and snorkeling. We’ll be based on Bastimentos Island at the Casa Cayuco luxury ecolodge by the Bastimentos National Marine Park. On Day 9, we’ll fly from Bocas del Toro back to San Jose, Costa Rica for our last night and farewell dinner.
