Join us on the beautiful Reventazon River on Costa Rica’s most classic one-day whitewater rafting trip! Enjoy 10 miles of crystal-clear water and exciting Class 2-3 rapids in the Florida section of the Reventazon that are fun for first-timers or those wanting a less intense rafting experience. The Reventazon was the first river used for commercial rafting trips in Costa Rica, and it is the longest river in the Caribbean region. There is always plenty of water for rafting all year long because the river is dam controlled. In fact, it produces most of the renewable energy for a good part of the country with its hydroelectric dams.
This wonderful introduction to whitewater rafting gives you two hours on the river, and with a minimum age of 9 years old, it’s a great trip for families! Our internationally-certified, bilingual rafting guides will steer you through the lively rapids as you flow down the breathtaking Reventazon Valley. Look for toucans, kingfishers, herons, tanagers, iguanas and emerald basilisks along the way. We know you’ll have worked up an appetite while rafting, so when you finish, we’ll have a delicious hot lunch waiting for you at our Rios Tropicales Operations Center. There, you can enjoy a cold drink in our bar, take a shower and change clothes in our spacious locker rooms, and pick up a souvenir in our store before returning to San Jose in the afternoon.

The nice thing about the Reventazon River Rafting Trip is that we leave later than most other one-day rafting trips that have very early morning departures. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and we’ll pick you up at your hotel starting at 8:00 a.m. We’ll drive by private, comfortable bus through the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park, past rainforest and waterfalls across the Continental Divide to the Caribbean side of the country. Our professional, bilingual guide – who is also a rafting guide – will tell you fun and important facts about Costa Rica along the way.
At our rafting put-in on the banks of the Reventazon River, you’ll receive a paddling and safety orientation. Then, you’ll start rafting. The first rapid of the day will set the pace for more fun to come. Enjoy the beautiful river valley as you travel from thick forest down to wide open spaces wi
